Police sources say at least two EMTs were responding to a call about an emotionally disturbed person when they were attacked Thursday night inside 1889 Sedgwick Ave.

Police say when they arrived on scene at around 10 p.m., they found a 32-year-old EMT with a slash on his head and a 20-year-old EMT with injuries to his face.

They were both rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are now recovering.

Police say a person of interest is in custody. However, the details of what led to the attack are unclear.
