The 28th annual Yonkers Police Vs. Yonkers Fire Charity Hockey Game drew crowds of supporters to the E.J. Murray Memorial Skating Center on Saturday.
The event served as a fundraiser for the city's Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center.
Both sides were claiming victory even before the ceremonial drop of the puck.
"We played last year and we absolutely obliterated the cops. We're trying to do that two years in a row, we're going to make a dynasty," said firefighter Joey Mastro.
Yonkers Police Officer Billy Brusack disagreed.
"I think P.D. is going to take it home, I think our guys are going to win, hopefully," he said.
Yonkers firefighters currently claim bragging rights to the winner's circle after earning the top spot last year.
"We raise money for charity, the Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital on Executive Boulevard. That's what's most important for us," Brusack added.
The Yonkers Fire Department defeated the Yonkers Police Department 5-3.
