Students got a firsthand look at careers in the aviation and aerospace industries during a Youth Aviation Expo in White Plains on Saturday.
The City of White Plains Youth Bureau organized the event and held it at the Eastview Middle School.
The event designed to introduce young people and their families to opportunities in the industries featured hands-on activities, interactive displays and direct conversations with aviation professionals. It was all aimed at sparking interest in careers both inside and outside the cockpit.
Students had the chance to experience flight simulators, watch drone demonstrations and hear what it’s like inside a real aircraft cockpit.
For students who want to continue exploring those possibilities, the White Plains Youth Bureau offers an aviation academy program aimed at guiding young people toward future careers in aviation.
