The tractor‑trailer that crashed into a Clifton limo company early Monday remains stuck inside the building as engineers and construction specialists work on a complex plan to safely remove it.
Clifton police said the truck is still embedded in the structure and that removing it will take most of the day due to extensive structural damage that must be carefully stabilized first.

Officials described the situation as very complex, explaining that crews must support the damaged building before attempting to pull the truck out.
The crash happened at 2:22 a.m. on the eastbound exit ramp from Route 3 to Passaic Avenue.
The building houses Toptown Limo Ride.
Fire officials said the truck driver, whose vehicle has a USA Truck logo, was trapped inside the cab after the impact and had to be extricated by firefighters.

They also said a person on the second floor of the building was rescued using a ladder.
The building suffered significant damage, and the truck remains on the scene.
“Extensive structural damage required painstaking work to safely support the structure before removal of the truck is possible,” a spokesperson for the Clifton Police Department said. “This is a very complex situation.”
A nearby resident told News 12 the crash sounded like an explosion.
“We just heard the loudest crash we have ever heard,” the neighbor said. “We thought we were being bombed. It was crazy.”
It remains unclear what caused the truck to lose control.
