New Rochelle saw firefighters from two cities come together on the ice Saturday for a charity hockey game with a deeper purpose.

Firefighters from New Rochelle and Yonkers faced off at Hommocks Ice Arena during their annual charity matchup.

The game honored the life of New Rochelle Fire Captain Andy DiMaggio, who died from COVID-19.

Money raised from the event will support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps provide mortgage-free homes to families of first responders.

The game stayed close until the final moments, with New Rochelle edging Yonkers by a 7-6 score.
