Sports Illustrated Stadium was filled today with local students for a hands-on lesson in science.
The occasion marked the 4th Annual Weather Education Day hosted by the New York Red Bulls. The annual event is designed to spark interest in meteorology and atmospheric science through interactive demonstrations and expert presentations.
The stadium was full of energy as students from across the region learned about the mechanics of severe weather, the importance of safety during storms, and the technology used to track New Jersey’s ever-changing conditions.

The fun wouldn't be complete without a bit of expert insight. News 12 Meteorologist Mike Rizzo was on hand to take part in the festivities, meeting with students and sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how the weather is forecasted for the Garden State.
Rizzo joined the educators on the field, helping to lead demonstrations and answering questions from curious future scientists about what it’s really like to track a storm in the News 12 studio.
