A Bronx family is demanding answers after their loved one died in a crash they believe may have involved a police pursuit.

Andy Peralta, 32, was killed when his moped collided with an MTA bus near Mosholu Parkway and Jerome Avenue on April 8.

The NYPD report states Peralta was driving the wrong way at a high speed before hitting the bus, describing the case as a motorcycle collision under investigation.

Family lawyers say it makes no mention of an NYPD vehicle or any possible pursuit. The NYPD told News 12 that officers attempted to stop Peralta after he made a U‑turn and drove away from them.

Family members say video taken moments before the crash appears to show a police car trailing behind Peralta. Their attorney, Eric Sanders, says that raises serious questions about whether police activity was not included in the report.

Sanders says the incident raises questions on whether officers followed the department’s pursuit policy, which prohibits high‑speed chases for traffic violations and nonviolent misdemeanors.

For Peralta’s mother, the investigation is about more than policy - it’s about the son she says never came home. She describes her family as “destroyed” and is calling for a full review of the incident.

The family’s attorney says they plan to examine additional video and continue pushing for answers.

The family is raising funds for memorial services.
