Brooklyn man charged with murder in fatal shooting of 15-year-old boy

Police have now arrested 18-year-old Zahir Davis for the fatal shooting.

A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre inside a Queens park.

Police responded to a shooting near Merrick Boulevard and Baisley Boulevard on April 16 at around 6:15 p.m.

Investigators say Pierre was shot in the chest. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Videos quickly circulated online of Pierre's attack.

Police have now arrested 18-year-old Zahir Davis for the fatal shooting.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch released a statement on X confirming the arrest. Davis had fled to Jamaica following the shooting and was arrested in New York City on Friday night.

He is facing murder charges.
