Authorities say a man riding an electric scooter died following a crash in Cypress Hills, just blocks away from his home.

Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Juan Quishpe. They say he was driving a 2024 Cleytro stand-up electric scooter just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday near Jamaica Avenue and Cypress Hills Street.

Authorities say Quishpe collided with a concrete barrier and was thrown to the pavement, causing severe head trauma.

EMS rushed him to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he died.

The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
