A 14-year-old was shot in his left leg while walking to school Wednesday morning in Soundview.

Witnesses in the area reported hearing at least four shots around 7:30 a.m.

The FDNY was called to 661 Rosedale Ave. and took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.

Police tape stretched across the road as officers from the 43rd Precinct investigated the crime scene and collected shell casings.

Three bullet holes were seen in the back door of a grey car parked at the location.

A woman told News 12 that she witnessed the shooting as she was taking her son to school.

“I saw the kid run to the car. I thought he hit the father at first. He was shooting towards the father,” she said. “I ducked down, and then he ran towards Seward. I'm nervous. I need to move. I want to get out of here.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, police say they are still searching for the shooter.
