A person was seriously hurt overnight along a busy stretch of 8th Avenue in Sunset Park, and investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
Emergency crews responded just before 9 p.m. near 43rd and 44th streets after reports that a pedestrian had been struck.
Video from the scene showed police blocking part of 8th Avenue as crews worked in the area.
Officials say one person was taken to Maimonides Medical Center with serious injuries.
Right now, investigators have not said what struck the person or what may have led up to the incident. The person’s age and condition have also not been released.
According to Vision Zero data, more than 700 pedestrians have been injured across Brooklyn this year as of the end of March.
News 12 is working to learn more about what happened and whether any surveillance video in the area may help investigators piece together the moments leading up to the incident.
