A Brooklyn man accused of striking a 13-year-old boy with his car while driving drunk in Borough Park faced a judge for the first time Saturday, prosecutors say.

Jamie Aguilar Sanchez, 55, was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa sedan when he allegedly hit the teen just before 8 a.m. Friday, sending him flying into the opposite lane of traffic, where the teen struck the front tire of a school bus before landing in front of it.

Prosecutors say the 13-year-old was seriously injured. He is being treated at Maimonides Hospital, where he is unconscious and intubated.

Sanchez and the driver of the school bus stayed at the scene. Officials say officers observed Sanchez showing signs of intoxication, including an odor of alcohol on his breath and bloodshot eyes.

During a sobriety test, Sanchez lost his balance six times, according to court documents.

Sanchez is charged with vehicular assault and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

He is due back in court on July 1.
