White Plains police are searching for a person who assaulted a worker at a business Thursday morning.

It happened at Cantina Taco and Tequila Bar on Mamaroneck Avenue around 10 a.m.

Authorities say a person entered the business before it opened. When an employee asked the person to leave, the person refused and became violent, assaulting the employee.

News 12 spoke with the owner and the employee who was assaulted.

The employee, Jose, says the man came into the kitchen demanding food.

"Where are my tacos? Where are my pork belly tacos?" said Jose, who is a prep cook.

Owner John Solo says the man then grabbed a fire extinguisher.

"He threw a fire extinguisher at one of our employees, and luckily, it missed," said Solo.

The worker sustained minor injuries but did not go to the hospital.

The man exited through the back door.

The owner says nothing like this has ever happened before, but they're looking to add additional security measures.

"We have a doorbell in the back door. We might be thinking about adding a doorbell in the front as well and having our inventory guys and our vendors ring the bell," said Solo.

It's unclear how the suspect entered the restaurant.
