How to get to FIFA World Cup matches on NJ Transit
Ticketholders will receive wristbands that they will not be able to board the trains without.

FIFA World Cup ticketholders have a strict list of approved ways to get to their matches. News 12 is breaking down all of them on the Toll of Commuting from start to finish - starting with New Jersey Transit.
NJ Transit has committed to moving up to 40,000 fans to the stadium on its trains each of the eight match days.
The tickets are special event tickets that cost $98, no matter which station the customer starts from. Originally, they were set to cost $150 before corporate sponsors enabled a price drop. These tickets are only available on the NJ Transit mobile app.

All FIFA train riders will go through either Secaucus Junction, Hoboken Terminal or New York Penn Station. As part of the ticket-buying process, customers choose a one-hour departure window from these stations. These start as early as five hours before kickoff. Parts of Penn Station and Secaucus Junction will shut down to non-FIFA travel four hours before kickoff.
The second part of the journey comes at the hub stations - Secaucus, Hoboken or New York Penn. Riders will go through security at specific boarding zones and receive a wristband. Riders cannot get on the train to or from the stadium if they do not have their wristband.
The Meadowlands Rail Line is about a 10-minute ride from Secaucus to the stadium. It drops passengers off on stadium grounds, with minimal walking. There will be activities on-site for the earliest fans, as well as hours after the game.
