Man stabbed in the face in Williamsburg

Investigators have not said what led up to the stabbing, whether the people involved knew each other or what may have sparked the violence.

A 36-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed in the face early Thursday morning in Williamsburg.

Police say it happened around 1:43 a.m. near South Second and Hooper streets.

The man suffered a stab wound to his chin and was taken to Woodhull Hospital. He is expected to recover.

As of Thursday morning, many questions remain unanswered.

Investigators have not said what led up to the stabbing, whether the people involved knew each other or what may have sparked the violence.

No description of the person responsible has been released.

No arrests have been announced.
