New York City now has a new criminal justice coordinator.
Justine Olderman will oversee the daily operations of the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.
After working with the Bronx Defenders, Olderman steps into a new role working with prosecutors, defense attorneys, courts and corrections to help reduce incarceration and improve public safety.
Early voting is now underway for New York’s primary elections.
News 12 is watching a number of contentious races in our boroughs – particularly in the 10th Congressional District and the 82nd Assembly District.
New York’s 10th Congressional District includes part of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is the territory currently represented by Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman. He faces Brad Lander, a former mayoral candidate and city comptroller. Lander has the endorsement of Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The race for New York’s 82nd Assembly District is underway in the Bronx. It stretches from Co-op City to Locust Point. The district has been represented for 20 years by incumbent Michael Benedetto. He is now facing challengers Jake Kuhl and Felix Omozusi.
Primary Election Day is June 23.
