Man dead, another critically injured following Dyker Beach Park stabbing attack

Police say a man is dead and another was critically injured during a stabbing attack Saturday afternoon near Dyker Beach Park.

Officers responded to a 911 call at about 1:54 p.m. of two men who were stabbed near 86th Street and 14th Avenue, within the confines of the 68th Precinct.

When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man and a 21-year-old man with stab wounds to their bodies.

Emergency medical services took both victims to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.

The 21-year-old man was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The 30-year-old remained in critical condition, authorities said.

A person of interest was taken into custody.

The identity of the deceased was being withheld pending family notification as of Saturday night.
