Teen moped passenger dies after crash on jetty in Sunset Park's MADE Bush Terminal

A teenage boy who was riding on the back of a moped was killed after it crashed on a jetty inside Sunset Park's MADE Bush Terminal, according to police and law enforcement sources.
The NYPD says a 17-year-old boy was driving the 2023 ZNEN moped when he lost control just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, sending his passenger airborne.
The passenger sustained severe head trauma and was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn, where he died.
Police sources tell News 12 that the 17-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. They say the teen was trying to move his phone from his back pocket to his front pocket when he lost control of the moped.
The passenger's identity has not been released.
No arrests have been made as of Wednesday evening.
