Minivan fatally strikes scooter rider in Dyker Heights
The NYPD identified the victim as 20-year-old Ajpop Walter, who was hit just blocks from his home. It happened just before 5:15 p.m. Wednesday near 14th Avenue and 77th Street.

A minivan struck and killed a scooter rider in Dyker Heights, police say.
The NYPD identified the victim as 20-year-old Ajpop Walter, who was hit just blocks from his home. It happened just before 5:15 p.m. Wednesday near 14th Avenue and 77th Street.
Police say Walter and the 2012 Toyota Sienna were both traveling southbound on 14th Avenue at the time of the crash.
Paramedics rushed the 20-year-old to Maimonides Medical Center, where he died.
According to the NYPD, the 56-year-old man who was driving the minivan stayed on scene after the crash.
No arrests have been made as of Friday evening.
