70-year-old man attacked after refusing to hand over cash at Weeksville bus stop

Police say a 70-year-old man was attacked after he refused to give money to a stranger at a B12 MTA bus stop in Weeksville.

The attack unfolded just before 3 p.m. on July 15 near 873 Empire Blvd.

According to the NYPD, the suspect demanded money from the 70-year-old and punched him in the face when he refused. Police say the attacker then took off running.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital. He suffered bruising to the left eye and is expected to recover, the NYPD says.

Police describe the suspect as man who is approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds.

The NYPD released photos of him wearing a white T-shirt, white shorts, a white hat, black sneakers and eyeglasses and carrying a black bookbag.
