Brooklyn man sentenced for coordinating killing of rival 'Penn Track' pimp in 2023

A Brooklyn man was sentenced for coordinating the killing of a rival “Penn Track” pimp in 2023, according to federal authorities.
Omari Scott, 45, also known as “Prince” and “Sir Prince,” will serve 50 years behind bars for the orchestrated murder of Cleveland Clay and the trafficking of two women at the open-air market in East New York. Prosecutors say Scott recruited a third sex trafficker, Michael Simmons, to kill Clay after learning that one of his victims was going to work for the rival pimp.
According to court documents, Scott lured victims in with false promises of love and money before gaining control over them and taking their earnings.
Scott trafficked women at the Penn Track and in other locations in New York and New Jersey for years, using violence and physical threats to control the women. Prosecutors say when he felt that one of his victims was not performing, he said he was “beating this b--- up tonight.”
Scott’s control made his victims dependent on him for everyday necessities - for themselves and their young children.
"Omari Scott was a predator of the worst kind – using violence and financial control to force victims into this work and even orchestrating the murder of a rival for encroaching on his business," said NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch.
The case involves two specific victims, named “Jane Doe 1” and “Jane Doe 2.” Prosecutors say it was Jane Doe 2 who Scott learned was planning to leave him to work for Clay. When Scott learned this news, he grabbed the victim, dragged her by her hair and threw her into his car.
He then tried to get the rival pimp to back down, and when he didn’t, Scott sent Simmons to kill Clay and provided him with the gun to do so.
Prosecutors say Simmons shot Clay on May 1, 2023, at a White Castle parking lot on the Penn Track. He died a few hours later.
Scott was convicted of murder in the course of sex trafficking and sex trafficking Jane Doe 2 by a federal jury in June 2025. He pleaded guilty to sex trafficking Jane Doe 1 and promoting prostitution before his trial, according to court documents.
He was sentenced Wednesday.
"The defendant earned this lengthy sentence through a pattern of ruthless violence, exploitation of vulnerable women, and abuse," said Joseph Nocella, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. "His actions caused lasting harm to his victims and demonstrated a complete disregard for the law and for human dignity.”
Simmons is still awaiting his sentencing. He pleaded guilty to murder in the course of sex trafficking and the sex trafficking of Jane Doe 2 in January 2025.
