Police say an arrest has been made in connection to a hate crime assault in Midwood.

Sean Behrens, 46, of Brooklyn, was taken into custody on Friday morning. Police say he is accused of attacking a 64-year-old man while hurling anti-Jewish remarks on July 21.

According to the NYPD, Behrens walked up to the victim and pushed him to the ground. It happened just after 8 a.m. near Kings Highway and Ocean Avenue.

Police say the 64-year-old suffered injuries to the back and waist.

Paramedics took him to Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital. He is expected to recover, according to the NYPD.

Police released images of the alleged attacker a day after the incident. Behrens was just over a week later.

The 46-year-old faces hate crime assault and aggravated harassment charges.
