Midwood mosque thief on the run
The NYPD says the man entered Makki Masjid Muslim Community Center, located at 1089 Coney Island Ave., just before 11:30 p.m. on June 21.

Police are searching for a man who they say committed a burglary inside a mosque in Midwood.
The NYPD says the man entered Makki Masjid Muslim Community Center, located at 1089 Coney Island Ave., just before 11:30 p.m. on June 21.
According to police, he snatched a 69-year-old man's cellphone and wallet, containing around $150, from a changing room.
The man then exited the mosque and took off running, traveling southbound on Coney Island Avenue.
Police say no one was injured during the theft.
