The NYPD says it is investigating a police-involved shooting in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The incident happened inside 126 Ludlow St. just after 4 p.m. Sunday, according to police. EMS took six people to nearby hospitals, including four officers.

Citizen app footage captured the commotion, showing crowds of people gathered to watch the investigation unfold.

Police say a butcher knife was recovered at the scene.

The officers suffered minor injuries, according to the NYPD.

The conditions of the two wounded civilians were not immediately known.
