A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest Friday night in East New York during a possible road rage incident, according to police.

Police say the shooting happened around 10 p.m. near 899 Crescent St.

"We tried to stop him," a deli owner who wished not to be identified said. "we're all shaken up."

The witness said he saw the moment an argument started between the 27-year-old man on a scooter and another man who was driving a car. That's when the witness said the driver of the car pulled out a gun.

"It clicked twice, the gun didn't go off. " he said. " We tried to calm them down."

When he realized there was no deescalating, he ran back into his store.

EMS took the man to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he died.

The identity of the victim had not been released nor arrests had been made as of Saturday night.
