 An arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man in Claremont back in 2024.  

The shooting happened on Sep. 29 at 2690 Morris Ave. just after 1 a.m. in 2024.  

Alan Ortiz, 33, was inside a car when he was struck in the left arm and chest. He later died at St. Barnabas Hospital from his injuries. Another 36-year-old man was also shot in his left arm and wrist.  

Police have arrested Jorge Caba, 46, for the shooting.

Caba is facing charges for murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
