Two teenage boys were arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing a 13-year-old boy in Soundview, police say.
The boys - 14 and 15 years old - are accused of attacking the victim at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. It happened in front of the C-Town supermarket on Westchester Avenue, steps from Morrison Avenue-Soundview subway station.
Officers took the duo into custody around three hours after the stabbing, according to the NYPD. Authorities say each boy faces an assault charge.
News 12 obtained additional footage of the incident, courtesy of Sabbir Naasir, which shows the wounded 13-year-old lying on the sidewalk as a person kneels nearby, appearing to comfort him.
The NYPD says the 13-year-old suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.
Paramedics rushed the boy to Jacobi Hospital. He is expected to recover, according to police.
The NYPD did not release the alleged attackers' names due to their ages.
Information about what sparked the stabbing was not immediately known as of Sunday evening.
