A 13-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a car in Brownsville early Saturday morning, according to the NYPD.

It happened just after 5:30 a.m. near 1580 Pitkin Ave.

Police say a 36-year-old man was driving a 2015 Hyundai, traveling eastbound on Pitkin Avenue when he hit the teen, who was crossing the street mid-block.

According to the NYPD, the teen suffered lacerations to the forehead.

Paramedics took him to Maimonides Medical Center. Police say he is expected to recover.

The man behind the wheel remained at the scene after the crash, investigators say.

No charges have been filed as of Saturday evening.
