Fans eagerly waiting for Billy Joel's return to the stage after he had brain surgery may have to keep waiting.

The musician spoke to the Hollywood Reporter and said his neurologist told him every time he does a show it is like he is getting a concussion due to the extreme volume, lighting, stress and energy.

Further testing will help determine if he can return.

Joel had to cancel all upcoming tour dates after a surgery for a condition called hydrocephalus in 2025.

He has said his balance and memory have improved, but doctors still advise against performing for the time being.
