Police say Kenneth Morgan, 68, has been charged for shooting two people inside a Claremont apartment Saturday night.

The shooting happened inside 3970 Third Ave. Police responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Police found Morgan barricaded inside the apartment.

When police gained access, they found a 70-year-old woman shot in the abdomen and a 60-year-old man shot in the torso. Morgan was taken into custody at the scene.

Both victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and are expected to be OK.

Sources close to the investigation say that Morgan was the 70-year-old woman’s ex-boyfriend.

Morgan is facing a slew of charges including attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
