One street in Union County has been named - not just the best to trick-or-treat in town or the state - but in America.
The high honor of "Trick-or-Treatiest Street in America" was awarded to East Dudley Avenue in Westfield by Reese's and its "Halloween Council." Dudley Avenue was the winner of 150 candidates.
“It got known through other towns, and people dropped off kids here," said resident Mark Plawker. "There were police barricades, and it just got that reputation.”
As a reward, Reese's is coming to town, hosting a block party and bringing tons of candy.
"Trick-or-treating is really fun in Westfield because there are so many kids, and you will always bump into somebody you know, and they give out a lot of candy," said trick-or-treater Athena.
Some homes are putting up the finishing touches on their decorations. Others are set up, but the competition is fierce.
"You have to like Halloween to live on this street," said Plawker.
"When we moved in, I kind of had to realize I had to up my game," said Jenny Khichi, of Westfield.
"This house is over 100 years old, so there's something kind of spooky," said Stephanie Hertz, of Westfield.
