New York City has installed red light cameras at 600 intersections across all five boroughs, the maximum number of cameras allowed under state law.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani says the cameras are helping prevent dangerous car crashes.
City data states that red-light running has dropped more than 80% at camera locations, while injuries from T-bone crashes have been reduced by 70%.
