The NYPD is searching for two men accused of stealing $35,000 from a Brooklyn woman through an impersonation scam.

According to investigators, the incident began Sept. 25 when the victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Walmart representative regarding the purchase of an iPad.

Police say the call was then transferred to individuals who claimed to represent the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The callers allegedly told the victim that an abandoned vehicle had been linked to her name and instructed her to withdraw money from her bank account pending an investigation.

Investigators say the victim withdrew $35,000 and later handed the cash to two men after being told the money would be returned once the matter was resolved.

The men then ran off.

Anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
