All six men involved in a fentanyl trafficking ring that operated out of a Brooklyn apartment have now been sentenced, according to Bridget G. Brennan, New York City's special narcotics prosecutor.

Among those convicted were Jonathan Ramos, of the Bronx, and Brooklyn residents Angel Cruz Tineo and Yeiby Ruffen Jacquez.

Prosecutors said the men were part of a drug trafficking organization that operated a fentanyl packaging mill from an apartment on 64th Street in Borough Park.

Ramos and two Staten Island men were convicted following a seven-week jury trial in Manhattan. Ramos, 43, was sentenced to 13 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

Authorities said they dismantled the operation after executing a search warrant at the apartment on May 9, 2024. Investigators seized about eight kilograms of narcotics, two firearms, thousands of fentanyl-laced glassine envelopes, drug-packaging equipment, seven bottles of xylazine and more than $28,000 in cash.

Prosecutors said video evidence showed Victor Rosario Arias, of Staten Island, fleeing through a kitchen window during the raid. He was arrested weeks later in Queens, where authorities recovered more than a kilogram of fentanyl and additional drug-packaging equipment from a vehicle linked to the trafficking ring.

Arias, 42, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision, while fellow Staten Island resident Steven Fabian Tineo, 29, received nine years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

During Arias' sentencing, Judge Juan M. Merchan called him a danger to society and noted the deadly toll of the fentanyl trade.

Cruz Tineo, 35, previously pleaded guilty to drug and weapons charges and was sentenced to 12 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

Ruffen Jacquez, 36, pleaded guilty to a drug charge and was sentenced to five years of probation.

A sixth defendant, Pennsylvania resident Brayam Aguasviv Perez, also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

"A 15-year prison sentence imposed on Victor Rosario Arias yesterday marks the end of criminal proceedings against six members of a prolific fentanyl trafficking ring and reflects the serious threat this organization posed," Brennan said in a statement.
