The second NYPD officer wounded in a shooting in the Bronx earlier this month is continuing his recovery back at home.

Officer Andrew Dossi, 30, was released from Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan Friday after being shot twice while responding to an armed robbery on Jan. 5 in the Fordham section of the borough. He was transferred to Mount Sinai from Saint Barnabas Hospital for recovery.

Officer Aliro Pellerano also sustained two gunshot wounds during the shooting. The 38-year-old was released from Saint Barnabas Hospital days later.

Dossi is now back home with his family in Stony Point, Rockland County.

PBA President Patrick Lynch thanked the citizens of New York for the support they've given to the NYPD following the shooting. He says he's grateful that both officers survived, although Dossi still faces a long road to recovery.

Authorities have since arrested two men in connection with the shootings. The accused gunman, 24-year-old Jason Polanco, faces a number of charges, including several counts of attempted murder, assault and robbery.

The second suspect, Joshua Kemp, faces charges that include robbery and weapons possession.
