A few bus routes in Brooklyn are set to see longer wait times due to a cut in service.
The B15, B38 and B54 lines will have reduced service beginning in the fall due to a lack of ridership, according to the MTA. The MTA says the wait times will be between 1 to 3 minutes longer than usual.
Between 2016 and 2017, the B54 route lost about 8% of its ridership, according to Ashley Price of the Transit Center.
In a statement, an MTA spokesperson says, "We will monitor service on these routes when the new schedules are implemented this fall, and look forward to working closely with the community during the upcoming Brooklyn bus network redesign, when we will re-examine all of the borough's bus routes collectively for the first time since they started in order to improve service throughout the system."
The MTA will be looking for feedback as it redesigns the bus network across New York City for the first time since routes were launched.
