A total of 17 tri-state area Hispanic-American teens were awarded scholarships toward college today during a ceremony at Yankee Stadium.
The scholarships were awarded by the Ronald McDonald House Charities' HACER program. Brooklyn had three winners who won $16,000 each to go toward tuition.
High school student and winner Natalia Munoz Perez says that she feels blessed her hard work paid off.
Over the past 27 years, the program has awarded nearly $7 million to 1,000 Hispanic-American high school seniors.
