A Brooklyn 3-D printing company is helping kids in need of prostheses Monday in East Williamsburg.
Voodoo Manufacturing says it is making inexpensive custom 3-D printed prosthetic hands for children around the world. The company says it has a factory of 160 desktop 3-D printers networked together with software employees have written.
"We actually manufacture up to 10,000 plastics on demand in two weeks or less, so we are a contract manufacturer for anyone who wants to get something made," says Voodoo Manufacturing CEO Max Friefeld.
The company says it partnered with the Enable Community Foundation to manufacture the custom prostheses for less than $50 a hand.
