Days after borough, city and state officials launched investigations into Republican state Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera over alleged hiring practices for a nonprofit organization, three Democratic challengers are looking to face off against the incumbent in November.
Mark Gjonaj, Irene Estrada Rukaj and Adam Bermudez are all seeking the Democratic nomination for the 80th Assembly District to face off against Rivera in the general election.
The Democratic primary election will be held on Sept. 13.
