A fast-moving fire in Kensington ripped through two homes Tuesday, leaving five people hurt and both families homeless.
Fire officials say the fire began on the second floor of a three-family house located at 10001 Foster Ave., quickly spreading to the home next door.
Three firefighters and two residents were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
"Everybody's in shock right now. It just broke me down, my whole house is burned down," says fire victim Saqib Sadiq.
Deputy Fire Chief Charles Clarke says 39 units and 168 firefighters were called to the scene. Officials say they do not believe the fire is suspicious.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials say that due to the extensive damage in the homes, it will take them a while to find the cause.
