Three people are in custody, and two guns were recovered, after police sources told News 12 shots were fired near the Brooklyn College campus.
It happened shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday near Campus Road and East 21st Street.
Sources said officers responded to a call of shots fired and recovered two guns and several casings.
Sources said three adults are in custody, but so far, no charges have been filed, so police have not released their names.
It is not clear how many shots were fired or what led to the incident.
One neighbor declined to speak on camera but told News 12 she heard about 10 shots.
Another neighbor said the block is full of kids, and he felt safe until now.
“We’re more deeply affected because many of the Brooklyn College students are commuter students,” said Nader Vossoughian, of Midwood. “Meanwhile, those of us who live on this block walk up and down these streets at all hours of the night. So, it’s quite terrifying.”
Police sources said no one was hurt.
A Brooklyn College spokesperson told News 12 that the West Gate was temporarily closed as a precaution but has since reopened, and the college notified the campus community about the incident.
