In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, four local restaurants are coming together for the ultimate collaboration.
Nami Nori has formed an alliance of four Asian cuisines — unifying not only Asian cultures, but the entire community with their AAPI Brooklyn Collaboration menu.
Each bite taken off the collab menu through Thursday is one taken to benefit Apex For youth, an organization that provides opportunities for underserved kids is Asian-American communities across New York City.
What’s on the menu? It starts with a yakju cocktail - a collaboration with local Korean wine distiller Hana Makgeolli.
Then for the Vietnamese part of the meal, we move to the appetizer.
"This dish is a shrimp salad, it was in collaboration with Di An Di,” says Sami Nori chef Takahiro Sakaeea. “Just thinking about the season we wanted something just super fresh and light to start the meal off."
For the main course, it’s five pieces of temaki - the Japanese word for hand roll. The assortment includes a California roll with cucumber avocado, tuna avocado, yellow-tail scallion, salmon cucumber and spicy tuna.
And to end the meal on a sweet note, Win Son shares their Taiwanese ice cream sandwich.
