A police cruiser headed to a 911 call collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Green and Lewis avenues Friday morning, sending four people to the hospital.
Eyewitnesses say the impact of the crash was so strong that the police car flipped over. Two police officers sustained minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Ralphie Fortune, and his passenger were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Fortune's father says his son told him that he had the green light while the cruiser had the red. Local residents say police should use more caution and give warning before running a red light.
