Firefighters rescued three people Friday from a two-alarm fire that broke out at a home in East Flatbush.

The fire happened on 93rd Street around 5 a.m.

One woman who was asleep at the time says she woke up when she heard the commotion. The woman says she didn't even have time to grab her shoes and just ran out.

It took firefighters a little more than an hour to get the fire under control. The deputy fire chief says firefighters battled heavy fire conditions as well as clutter inside the home.

"We also had what we call a clutter condition, which means a lot of debris was in the apartment, which made it difficult for us to maneuver and delayed our putting water on the fire and became a dangerous situation," says Deputy Chief Stephen Moro.

The fire marshal's office will now look into what caused the fire.
