A 49-year-old man was struck and killed by an e-bike while crossing a street in Greenpoint on Friday night, police said.
Police identified the victim as Luis Cruz.
They say he was crossing Franklin Street near India Street around 7:45 p.m. when he was hit by a 26-year-old man on an e-bike.
Cruz suffered severe head trauma and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The e-bike rider remained at the scene, and police say no arrests have been made.
Authorities do not suspect criminality, but the investigation is ongoing.
Franklin Street between India and Java streets was shut down for several hours following the crash as emergency crews responded.
