Five people from The Bronx were arrested during an undercover operation targeting dirt bike thieves this week in New Jersey.

The Monroe Township Police Department says they were investigating a pattern of thefts, attempted burglaries and related crimes both locally and in surrounding jurisdictions.

Officials issued a decoy ad offering a bike for sale on social media. Police say the ad was meant to attract potential thieves.

Officers monitoring the scene say they caught five individuals attempting to break in and steal the dirt bike.

Authorities say the group is facing charges for burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and possession of burglary tools.
