According to police, the man was walking across Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Monday when he was hit by a sedan.

to police, the man was walking across Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart
Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Monday when he was hit by a sedan.
The man was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver remained at the scene.
No charges have been filed.
