Family and friends are asking for the public's help in finding a 70-year-old man with dementia who has been missing since late Monday or early Tuesday morning.
Francis's family says Najir Francis, also known as "Leslie," was last seen in Bushwick. They say that they have been frantically searching for him, calling nearby hospitals, putting up fliers, starting social media campaigns and contacting bus drivers.
Francis's medical aide says that he said he planned to take a walk to Saratoga Park, but when the aide came back to check on him on Tuesday morning, he wasn't there. They say that Francis has been known to walk to Saratoga Park, but that he always returned to his apartment.
News 12 Brooklyn is told that Francis is 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair. He is missing four fingers on his left hand. At the time of his disappearance, Francis was wearing blue jeans, a beige T-shirt, green hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers, and was walking with a cane.
Francis' family says that it is important that he is found soon because he suffers from many ailments and is in need of his medication. They say he wears a pacemaker, has had seizures and is being treated for dementia and high blood pressure.
