News 12 spoke exclusively with a 71-year-old man named Vito, who says he was struck in the face with a shovel while clearing snow off his car in Gravesend.

“I had no conversation with the man. And all of a sudden, boom right across my face," said Vito, a Gravesend resident.

The incident happened on Dec. 27 around 11:30 a.m. on Stryker Court and West 1st Street.

“It was really painful. My brain like blew up, and it was like 'wow someone hit me with a shovel,'" said Vito.
