An elderly woman was killed Friday morning by a hit-and-run driver in Dyker Heights.

Police say Bridgett Morissey, 76, was struck around 7 a.m. by a silver sedan that fled the scene. Morissey was the second person in her family to be killed by a driver at the intersection of Bay Ridge Parkway and 14th Avenue.

Police are searching Dyker Heights for the driver who left Morissey in the streets. Neighbors say that the intersection in front of her house is quite dangerous, but the family never expected this to happen again stating that she commonly crossed that street to visit family and pick up her medication.
